• About Michael Kalil

    Michael Kalil is an established presence in the north Florida legal community who was sworn in as a state circuit judge on January 5, 2021. Active with the Jacksonville Bar Association and the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville, Michael Kalil practiced as an attorney in the Law Offices of John S. Kalil for nine years. This local law firm provides results-driven support to clients in diverse personal injury, product liability, and medical malpractice matters.

    Previously, as assistant public defender for Duval County, Florida, from 2009 to 2011, Mr. Kalil served citizen interests through trying more than two dozen cases in a courtroom setting. The roster of criminal cases he handled spanned misdemeanors and juvenile delinquency, as well as serious felonies.

    Beyond his responsibilities as an attorney, Mr. Kalil achieved appointment to the City of Jacksonville Civil Service Board. He earned election to the role of vice-chairman of the quasi-judicial review board in 2018 and served in this capacity until April 2020.
